World of Frozen: Disneyland Paris Opens €2 Billion Expansion

Arendelle Comes to Life Just Outside Paris

This Saturday, March 29, 2026, Disneyland Paris reaches a historic milestone with the public opening of World of Frozen, a themed land entirely dedicated to the world of Frozen. The centerpiece of a €2 billion transformation, this expansion is part of the complete metamorphosis of the second park, renamed Disney Adventure World — formerly Walt Disney Studios Park.

The official inauguration took place on March 27 in the presence of President Emmanuel Macron, who pointed out that Disneyland Paris now represents 6.1% of France's national tourism revenue, with more than 445 million cumulative visits since 1992.

A Life-Sized Kingdom of Arendelle

Spanning 9,800 m², World of Frozen transports visitors to the heart of the kingdom of Arendelle, recreated to scale. The centerpiece: a 36-meter-high snow-capped mountain, crowned by Elsa's ice palace, visible from across the park.

The main attraction, Frozen Ever After, offers a boat cruise through the kingdom, accompanied by iconic songs from the films and new compositions. Visitors can also meet Anna and Elsa in the castle, attend the "Arendelle Celebration" — a show featuring a next-generation animatronic Olaf — and dine at the Nordic Crowns Tavern, which offers sixteen Nordic-inspired dishes.

A Completely Redesigned Park

World of Frozen is just the most spectacular element of a global overhaul. Disney Adventure World now includes three immersive lands — World of Frozen, Worlds of Pixar and Marvel Avengers Campus — soon to be joined by a fourth inspired by the Lion King.

New features also include Adventure Way, a main avenue with a family ride inspired by Tangled, as well as Adventure Bay, a 3-hectare lake serving as the stage for the nighttime show Disney Cascade of Lights, combining more than 350 drones, a 90-piece orchestra and pyrotechnic effects. In total, 15 new restaurants complete the offering.

More than 90% of the second park's spaces have been redesigned since its inauguration in 2002, and its area has almost doubled.

An Economic Engine for Île-de-France

The impact goes far beyond entertainment. The expansion has generated more than 1,000 additional direct jobs, bringing the total workforce of Disneyland Paris to approximately 20,000 employees of 120 nationalities, 90% of whom are on permanent contracts. The Île-de-France region estimates that 70,000 direct, indirect and induced jobs are supported by the park's activity.

The construction project mobilized nearly 400 suppliers, 82% of whom are French or European. Since 1987, Disney has invested €13 billion in French territory, with cumulative tax revenues of €8.8 billion.

A Bet on the Future of European Tourism

The opening, strategically timed to coincide with the start of the spring holidays, aims to consolidate Disneyland Paris's position as Europe's leading private tourist destination. With a two-park ticket starting at €75 during off-peak periods and no extra charge to access World of Frozen, Disney is counting on volume to recoup this colossal investment — while already preparing the next phases of expansion.
